A couple pressing their cheeks to their grey-muzzled black dog
Lauren and her partner · Boca Raton studio

He won't be this age again.
Neither will you.

Many of the families who come to us have a dog who is getting older. They rarely say it that way. They say they want one good photograph of the two of them, while he is still himself.

The work

Dogs and their humans, then families.

A woman laughing with her eyes closed, her cheek pressed to her black dog's muzzle
A woman and her fluffy collie mix cheek to cheek, both looking at the camera
A woman and her tricolor dog nose to nose
Four Great Danes sitting shoulder to shoulder, looking at the camera
Four Great Danes, one hour.
A black Great Dane's head in three-quarter light
A black dog lifting his head, mouth open, eyes up
A shaggy white terrier mix in profile
A white shepherd in profile, mouth open
A brindle French bulldog looking straight at the camera
A pug held up close to the lens, grinning

Every dog gets a portrait of its own.

A merle Great Dane and a young woman touching noses in a kiss

Black and white is light and shadow, with nothing in the way of a face.

A couple kissing their dog on both cheeks at once
An older couple lying on the studio floor with their black lab between them
A man with his eyes closed, holding his white poodle close
A family of four, two grown sons standing behind their parents, with their golden retriever in a bandana
A toddler in a floral dress sitting beside a big black doodle
A girl and a little boy on either side of their golden retriever

…then families. The hour is the same.

Two hands, one with a bracelet and one with a ring, and a paw resting on them
Two hands holding up a dog's ears while he looks at the camera, unimpressed

And the small things.

One hour, one dog

Victoria brought Sable.

How it works

From your application to your wall.

  1. 01 Apply A short form, about two minutes. Nothing is charged here. Our team reviews every application.
  2. 02 The call If you're selected, within one business day, on a recorded line. Ten minutes: your dog, the money, two dates. You can say no to both.
  3. 03 Your hour In the studio, on its session days. Darker tops, treats and a toy. Then a walk past the pieces at real size.
  4. 04 Private Viewing On Zoom, from home, 3 to 14 days later. Everyone who decides is there. Order, or don't.
  5. 05 On your wall 10 to 12 weeks after the final payment, shipped to your door.

What if my dog won't sit still? Most don't. Your dog meets the photographer off the leash first, there are treats in every pocket, and we go at your dog's pace. Older and anxious dogs are welcome.

Happy clients.

“Yes, if you choose to purchase, it is pricey. However, buying the pictures is a choice, not a requirement.”

Your portraits

Signature acrylic collages.

What we're known for: your portraits under thick, polished acrylic — eleven in a 30×30 collage, or five in a 42×24. We also make single acrylic pieces, matted prints and our Signature Portrait Box, from Australia.

What it costs

Every number, before you apply.

Your session

Complimentary + $200 credit

If your application is selected, our regular $450 session fee is waived, and $200 in studio credit goes toward your portraits — $100, and $100 more when you keep your original dates. Why: we've updated our studio displays and are adding new portraits to our website. About an hour in our studio, the whole family welcome.

Portraits start at

$495

A matted print. Acrylic wall pieces from $1,200; our largest collection is $3,495.

Most families invest

$1,000–$3,000

Before their credits and your state's sales tax. The same prices for everyone.

To hold your date

A reservation fee

By card, on the call — never on this page. It goes toward your portraits, and there are three ways back:

  • Within 72 hoursBack to you, less the card processing fee and a $15 studio fee where it applies.
  • At your Private ViewingIf you order nothing, back the same way.
  • After 72 hoursStudio credit toward portraits, for a year.

Our Terms, in one sentence: “There is no obligation to purchase.”

The rest, in full

You see your portraits and decide at your Private Viewing: on Zoom, from home, 3 to 14 days after the session.

Come to your Private Viewing, and if you don't love your portraits enough to hang them, the reservation fee is returned, less the card processing fee and a $15 studio fee where it applies — our Hang-It Guarantee. Credits are usable only at your Private Viewing.

Orders of $1,000 and up can be split into 3 or 6 payments; Klarna and Affirm are available too. The card you use for the fee stays on file with Stripe and is charged later only when you ask. Every decision is made at the viewing, and all sales are final after it.

Printed pieces are shipped to your home 10 to 12 weeks after the final payment, shipping included; digital files within 10 to 15 business days.

A screenshot of Holli C.'s five-star review: she was hesitant, thinking it could be a scam; her anxious rescue Molly was at home in the studio
Holli C., Punta Gorda · a screenshot of the original, word for word

Is this for real?

“I was definitely hesitant thinking maybe it could be a scam.”

We understand. We are a portrait studio with three addresses, open by appointment, making portraits since 2010 — in the United States since 2018. The catch, if you want to call it that, is the reservation fee: it holds your date, and it comes back to you, less the card processing fee and a $15 studio fee where it applies, or goes toward your portraits.

People who hold a date with a card show up. It is the same reason a restaurant asks for a card on a Saturday night. Nothing is charged until you have talked to a real person and chosen a date.

Every review, word for word

Why are some sessions complimentary?

Our session fee is $450. We've updated our studio displays and are adding new portraits to our website, so for the dogs and families we select, the fee is waived and $200 in studio credit goes toward their portraits. We earn our living from the portraits, not the hour: at your Private Viewing you see them at wall size and decide whether to order. The reservation fee is the only money before that, and it comes back, less the card processing fee and a $15 studio fee where it applies, if you order nothing.

What is the reservation fee?

It holds your date, and it goes toward your portraits. Change your mind within 72 hours of paying and it is refunded, less the card processing fee and a $15 studio fee where it applies. Payments go through Stripe — we never see your card number.

What if I don't buy anything?

That's your choice. Come to your Private Viewing, and if you don't order, your reservation fee is returned, less the card processing fee and a $15 studio fee where it applies — as our Terms say.

Can I see the studio first?

Of course — each studio page has a minute inside, how to find us, and a session in 30 seconds.
